Anita Shah Akella, IAAS (96) is the Joint Secretary at Ministry of Corporate Affairs, handling the portfolio of policy and drafting pertaining to Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code and administrative matters of the Adjudicating Authority.

She is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority which administers the Investor education and Protection Fund, and is responsible for spreading financial literacy in the country. As an Ex-Officio Board Member of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, she partakes in policy decisions of IBBI.

A distinguished senior member of the Indian Audit & Accounts Services, she carries a wealth of experience as an Auditor, Financial Advisor with a demonstrated history of working in the government finance sector.

She has established skills in assessing and establishing viability of large projects, contract management, Negotiation, Budgeting, Internal Audit, Analysis and Government process. Expert at conflict resolution. Strong credentials of turning around loss making PSUs in the Strategic Sector. On Boards of Mining, Electronic Public Sector Enterprises like UCIL, IREL and ECIL, under Atomic Energy Sector. Her specialized negotiation skills led to her Chairing the Intergovernmental Association of Square Kilometre Array. She was also the head of the Finance Committee of the Manchester based organisation which had 13 participating countries.
