Ravi Subramanian Shankar is a litigation partner at Kirkland & Ellis.

Ravi has significant experience representing debtors and creditors alike in U.S. bankruptcies and financial disputes, including collaborating on international insolvency matters.

Ravi has managed complex, contentious, and large restructurings, and he also has first chaired or co-led multiple trials in bankruptcy court.

Ravi has been recognized explicitly by a federal bankruptcy court judge for his oral argument skills, which he honed as a national debater in high school and college.

Among his accolades, Ravi has been recognized as the American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” in May 2020 and further received an Honorable Mention for the same award in October 2021.

Ravi received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School and undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Northwestern University, and previously served as a federal law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
